Indications/Uses
Control of acne through desquamation, keratolysis, free fatty acid reduction and drying, plus antibacterial action. For dark or oily skin.
Uses: Panoxyl Acne Gel is used to treat
acne. It works by softening , loosening and removing the top
layer of dead skin that may block the skin pores and cause
acne. This medication also has a special antiseptic effect
and drying action. The topical use of PANOXYL 5 Acne Gel
provides therapeutic control of acne through drying and
desquamative action, as well as providing antiseptic
activity. Dosage and directions for use:
Apply the product carefully to the
affected areas once daily and allow to remain for 2 hours.
Remove with water, and continue this treatment for 2 to 4
days. If no discomfort is felt, apply once daily for 4
hours for the next 4 days. If there is still no discomfort,
apply at bedtime and leave the product on all night. For
severe conditions the product may be used in the morning,
again after 5 to 6 hours and again at night.
Contra-indications:
Patients with a known sensitivity to
Benzoyl Peroxide should not employ this medication.
Side-effects and
special precautions: For external use
only. Keep away from mouth, eyes and other mucous
membranes to avoid irritation. The product should only be
applied to other sensitive areas, such as the skin of the
neck, with caution. In normal use a mild burning sensation
will probably be felt on the first application, and a moderate
reddening and peeling of the skin will occur within a few
days.
During the first few weeks of treatment a sudden
increase in peeling will occur in most patients, but this is
not harmful and will subside within a day or two if the
treatment is temporarily discontinued. If discomfort such
as burning, redness or excess peeling occur, discontinue
treatment temporarily or consult a doctor. May bleach dyed
clothing and fabrics.
